Mobile Fashion
From clothes that change color with your body heat, to solar-paneled jackets that charge your cell phone, fashion is becoming more tech-savvy with every season. In the Mobile Fashion pod, students will explore the latest fashion trend—wearable technology. Teacher-mentors: Pollie Barden and Jennifer Boyle

Comics, Character and Creativity
Comics are a thrill to many kids and students at Q2L have lots of character! In Comics, Character and Creativity, students will explore the relationship between the two. Students will use a variety of digital tools to draw, write and create digital comics and characters for mobile platforms.
Teacher-mentors: Al Doyle and Raina Telgemeier

Super Sleuths
Researchers from Education Development Center (EDC) will be working with students to design a suite of games for the Nintendo DS to support middle school science and literacy. Students will be asked to play with game prototypes and give their feedback on what they think works, what does not work, and how they would improve the games. As they play with the games, students will be exposed to science content and concepts (energy transformation, systems management) that they will need to understand and critique the games.
Teacher-mentor: Ameer Mourad

Sweat Equity Design Challenge: Generating Buzz
Remember the last time you got excited about a video game before it was released? Is it because you saw a cool poster, or heard about it from a friend? Now it's your turn to generate the buzz! In this Sweat Equity Design Challenge, students will get a behind-the-scenes look at a new video game and work with the game's creators to get the word out. Students will learn about marketing and promotion by conducting polls, analyzing trends, and designing cool signs and posters.
Teacher-mentor: Tiffany Burnette
