ARTLab+ Game Design
A four-day summer design studio where teens explore mobile game design at the Hirshhorn Museum
ARTLab gives teens the opportunity to explore mobile game design in the context of the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC. Teens will learn the fundamentals of game design by playing and analyzing great games. Then they will work together to design games that leverage museum collections as inspiration and as integral parts of game play. Participants will work with a variety of digital media and mobile technologies, in order to produce games for 2D, 3D and mobile platforms.
- No previous game design experience required
- For ages 13 through 19
- Open to teens at no cost
- Online registration required
- Program size limited to approximately 30 participants
- Curriculum design by the Institute of Play
