Being Me
An online social network site where kids develop as integrated socio-emotional beings and responsible digital citizens
Designed and developed in partnership with Remix Learning, Being Me is a gated online social network site custom-built around a socio-emotional and community wellness curriculum, and used by students, teachers and mentors. The site is designed to support active online participation and collaboration and responsible digital citizenship. It provides users a forum to explore and establish identities within a connected community of peers. And it serves as a bridge between in-school, after-school and out-of-school spaces.
Network applications enable users to track mood and energy level, create and participate in debates and community-wide challenges, earn and share virtual currency and search out, build a reputation around and offer expertise by uploading, sharing, rating and commenting on digital media.
Currently being piloted at the CICS ChicagoQuest school.
