Everyone’s a Critic is a friendly game of observation and persuasion designed in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. In this two or three and three-plus player game, players assume the roles of Artists or Critics and try to outwit and outplay their opponents while discovering works of art.
As MoMA’s museum educators look outside the field of education to what behaviors are truly engaging, they have embraced games as models for learning in the 21st century. By encouraging players to make the museum experience a more social one through dialogue and debate, Everyone’s a Critic provides a model for the type of engagement that cultural institutions can foster with new approaches to learning design.
Though MoMA is a pioneer in new ways to engage audiences, Everyone’s a Critic can be played in any museum or gallery, anywhere in the world.
To play, just download the game as a PDF or pick it up in the MoMA galleries!
