A series of videos and associated resources that shine a light on the experiences and innovations that are leading the way for learning design in the twenty-first century

Intended as a resource to inspire others to take up the challenge of learning design, Playmakers explores a fundamental shift in the way we think about and approach learning. The seven videos in the Playmakers series introduce a range of people working at the intersection of games and learning, from teachers who happened on the power of play through trial and error, to commercial game designers who set out to make one great game and ended up empowering millions of users to make their own. What joins together these designers is their conviction that to design for effective learning is to design for engagement; that play represents a very special state of engagement; and that the craft of game making has a lot to teach us about the design of systems that reliably give rise to play in a wide array of users.
