Users design game levels using three narrow paper game boards, which represent the game space, and colored stickers, which represent game events. Then users explain their designs to each other or to mentors and teachers, including predictions for game play. A digital reader is used to translate game boards immediately into digital games, for playtesting on screen or within SMALLab.
- For use with the SMALLab game Liferaft
- Puts players in control of game play
- No previous game design experience required
- Provides system to transition smoothly from paper prototype to digital game design
